Can panoramic photography be a commercial success? ‘Photospherical artists’ Chris George and Matt Wright’s work adorns P&O’s new £300 million
super-liner, and they reveal how they’ve come a long way in a short time.

Leaving aside content and subject matter for a second, few photographs have as much impact and inherent wow factor as those presented as large-format panoramic images. Those who can master the demands of the format are inevitably left with work that is very saleable.
Not just thinking commercially but taking visible pleasure in pushing the boundaries of the panoramic medium – specifically 360° panoramas – are fast-rising pair Chris George and Matt Wright who, partly because of their standalone skills, plus ages – 38 and 26 respectively – come across as urbane boffin and enthusiastic hustler respectively.
