Slideshow software 4 Months ago Karma: 1
Hey everyone,

hoping someone might have some advice on slideshow software - I'm a mac user, looking to create slick wedding slideshows for clients (ideally in time to music) that I can export onto DVD for them. Anyone know something that might fit? It won't just be for proofing, I'm looking for an end product...

I've been looking into Showit (love the fact you can time the music to the pics) but I don't think you can export the slideshows to dvd yourself, you have to sell them through their website I think...

Anyone found anything good out there?!
Thanks,
Helen

I use ProShow Gold which I find gives me all the control I want over slideshows. You can then export to DVD/BluRay/CD/YouTube/etc etc.

I use Windows but I'm sure a Mac version is available

We use Proshow Gold and we have both PC & Mac (it's on the same disc). There is also the pro version called Producer but this adds a hefty increase to the purchase price. I did add some of the custom packs as well.

They can only be purchased via their own website (US based so purchase prices are in $). It is cheaper if you only have the download version.

Just one point. I had some problems burning the finished product to DVD but the issue turned out to be a conflict with Norton. It's fine if I take the time to disable Norton before burning. Just remember to enable it to automatically switch back on later. It's also good practice to disable your internet access at this point to avoid virus attack during this period.

There is no actual mac version of Pro Show Gold - although you can run the PC version on a mac if you have a reasonably new mac running windows under something like VM Fusion.
