Harnessing Social Networks as Marketing Tools 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
With most marketing and agency buyers of photography now completely conversant with social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Flickr etc, it makes sense to think about how these networks can be used as marketing tools for a free form of advertising.

This post is to try and get 1000 fan members onto our page, this is not just to advertise it through this forum, but to help you understand as to why you should be doing this for your business too!!!

As it stands at the moment, when your Facebook group has reached 1000 fans, you can create a username eg. www.facebook.com/adamcoupephotography

They have just brought this out for profiles, but to get your business on a networking site as large as Facebook, and also get www.facebook.com/yourbusinessname thats what you really want! And you can of course add it to your corporate stationary, and cross-link via your website to Facebook & back.

If you have a business name for example of John Smith Photography, the quicker you get to 1000 the more chance you have of getting your username. You don’t want other people using names that are rightly yours

So please help us out, and we’ll help you out too by becoming a fan of yours.

Click on the Facebook link below and become a fan.

What's the point for us/you then?

Basically, it's a very cost effective means of creating awareness to new potential customers, not just your own fans, but the friends of your fans too. So letting your fans know about your Special Offers etc. also means it appears on their personal pages for their friends who will see your messaging too, so it's just possible that you could mop-up your local area's Facebook and reach hundreds, potentially many thousands of fresh customers.

Why not give it a go and if we all do, we can be a fan of each other and report here what's working or not

So go on, help us by becoming a fan - NOW

Cheers

Adam

I am new to facebook, but I was under the impression you needed to have folks "like" your business page. Is there a difference between LIKEing a page and FANing a page?

I followed the link and did a friend request, but I am not sure I am a fan...

I would appreciate if folks would search facebook for PREMIERCHOICE PHOTOGRAPHY and like the page, I will gladly like/fan you back.
